It was her part of Secret Santa 2014?
It was her part of Secret Santa 2014?
Tara is a demon with medium length black hair and sea blue eyes! In her demon form she has black fox ears and a matching fox tail! Her specialty is fire.
Tara was a local to the area, one which was of the few cross-over neighborhoods in existence. Here both demon and human live in harmony, both knowing the other is there. There is rarely any trouble in this little place, almost like reality has skipped over on that part.
It was here that Koenma had decided to give the Spirit Detectives a home-away-from-home. It was a nice place, pretty big for a regular house, yet not near the size of a mansion. The look of a red brick home, chimney included.
And not far down the road was another home similar in design of the red brick and chimney but much smaller in size. What made this home stand out was not how it looked but the noise. This is the home of a avid gamer,Tara. Who owned one of the best sound systems ever made. And it was these two facts that caught the spirit detective Yuske Uremeshi and Kazuma Kuwabara's attention.
You see even demons such as Tara need to restock on supplies while Yuske and Kuwabara needed to restock on food. While at the store they had noticed Tara looking at the games and needless to say the tree became fast friends.
Tara eventually meet the legend himself, Yoko Kurama, or Suichi Minamino as the majority of people called him. He was one of the few legends that Tara could name the date and time or every event in their life, or pretty close to it, which was not good for him. She knew everything he could do and anything he couldn't. Other than her fire powers she was a chain and blade wielder, so he had been her target for skill with her chain. Her blade target was of course the fourth member of the group, Jaganshi Hiei.
Tara aimed to rival his skill with a sword... some day. She was currently no where near it at the moment, and probably wouldn't be any time soon due to being easily distracted. Yoko, as Tara called him, had noticed the similarity in Tara and Hiei's styles. Very offensive, yet flexible. He took it upon himself to eventuly introduce two.
One day. One sight. One word. And Tara was hooked. Hiei had done one thing no other man had, he caught her eye. Well... maybe a bit more then just her eyes.
Now it is Christmas, one of the human holidays that are celebrated here in our little community. Tara had taken it upon herself to help an older woman who lived next door who was probably 50 and had moved here to get away from the cruelty of the rest of the human race. Tara was probably about 17-ish in the human world. Yet Tara was waaay older then the lady She was helping in reality, by a few decades in the least. She wasn't entirely sure how old she was, since She had never kept count. She was always to busy to think about it; call it a butterfly's bad habit. Tara was currently putting up a strand on lights on the ladys porch; using a human method for the sake of humans watching. Tara really didn't want trouble to befall the area by a random person seeing a human with fox ear and tail using fire to make wings to in a since hover. Not a good thing to happen and one that wasn't going to happen.
"Tara, be careful now. Demon or not, I don't want you to get hurt."
Tara smiled down at the lady from over her shoulder. Her son had died three weeks before she moved here in a car wreck. She looked at Tara and all of the other younger demons and humans on the block as her own. Tara was always helping her and spending time with her though, so she personally thought of herself as her favorite.
"I won't Mrs. Konomashii. I did this for you last year, I didn't fall then. I won't do that now. Besides, you’re talking to the world's best aerobatic dancer; I land on both feet before I land on my butt."
Tara heard her chuckle slightly. Tara had a staple gun in one hand and a strand of lights in the other, no hands to hold on to anything. She went about placing the strand of lights on the porch and, having closed her eyes for a second with a smile, stapled her finger. She hissed out an 'ow' and brought her finger up to her lips. And sucked on the said appendage for a moment before setting the gun down. She brought her other hand up and wrapped it around the base of her finger in hopes of slowing the blood flow, since it was a rather long staple that went in the finger.
She knew she had to get it out so she bit down on the foreign metal object and pulled. Her torso went with her head but a few inches, those few inches being enough to send Tara tumbling to the ground. She was a fox, and despite her words, her shoulders hit first then her butt, and the last thing to hit the ground were her feet. Following quickly behind them however was the ladder.
Tara's eyes were open and she saw it coming so she moved. Fast. She flipped backwards and landed in front of Mrs. Konomashii, nearly falling over again, and an inch away from the end of the ladder when it hit the ground. Mrs. Konomashii had her hand up to her mouth, but Tara knew behind it was a knowing smirk.
"Now, Tara. I thought you said you were 'the world's best aerobatic dancer' and that you land on both feet before you land on your butt?"
Her voice screamed of a taunting tone. Tara growled slightly and looked at her over her shoulder.
"Yes, yes. Taunt the Fox. The little creature that landed on her butt and stapled her finger all in two minutes time."
Next Day - Christmas Eve
Despite the short notice, with a little 'gentle' persuasion from Mrs. Konomashii, Tara agreed to go to the boys’ for Christmas this year. She was good friends with the boys and their respective others as well as their families other than Boton who annoyed her.
Tara was dressed for the occasion as well. A red shirt with white fluff around the belled end of both sleeves and around the front of the collar, the fluff continued up around the edge of the hood, and bottom hem. Her pants matched perfectly, in that both were clingy and form-fitting, and that the pants had the same fluff around the edges. The pants only had it around the bottom however, for the sake of the suit fitting. The collar of the shirt dipped slightly low for her taste, as she preferred a high collared shirt, and showed a bit of flesh around her chest. She wore no jewelry, and a pair of black lace-up 2-inch heeled boots. The boots that put her at 5' 5".
She fixed her hair so that only her bangs showed. She was going to be staying the night with them, Koenma was going to drop by and play the role of 'Santa' and bring the boys a few gifts, supposedly, he was going to bring Tara a little something as well. To make things more challenging for Koenma, we were all going to sleep in the living room where the tree was. That meant she had to pack her Christmas pj's... if she could find them. Mrs. K. had given them to her a few years back, as well as the suit she was wearing now and a dress that matched it and came up to her knees. Tara had already packed the dress for the next day, now to find the pj's...
"Ow! Sugar-honey-iced -tea-tulls! That hurt! “
Tara had run into a sharp object in her little chest of valuables. She quickly pulled her hand free and examined the small wound. They say little wounds hurt worse then big one... And she agreed. It was tiny by every definition but it drew a curse from her rather clean tongue.
She had hit her hand on a piece of broken glass from an old picture of herself and a certain karasu, Yuki. She had left him in the demon world when she came here. Tara hadn't seen him since. He said he'd visit....
She shook off the thoughts and looked at the clothes that were now on her floor. Guess what was right on top of the pile... her pj's in all their red satin glory. She growled and grabbed the cursed items and tossed them onto her bed.
She walked into her bathroom and grabbed her already-packed hygiene kit. And tossed it with the items on her bed and walked over to her dresser. She grabbed any thing else she might need out of it, including her red and green 'elf socks', as she called them, and her red and white 'candy-cane socks'. She dropped the small pile of garments on her bed and walked over to her closet. And opened it and pulled free a small black bag. She tossed it onto her bed as well. And closed the door and jumped onto her bed, making everything on it jump with her.
Tara set to packing her things and was done in less then ten minutes if you include her folding time. She shouldered the bag and walked over to the door. She had already turned everything off and had her skateboard ready to go. It came in handy for quick trips to the store, especially when you considered the fact that she didn't have a car. Everything was black except the red fox on the bottom; her wheels were lime green though, just to be different.
Tara grabbed her board and shut the door. She made her way to the front of the house, turning off lights as she went and double checking her gear. She made it to the front and stepped outside, locking the door behind. She set the board down on the walkway and was off. It wasn't far to the boys' house, so she took her time.
The Boy's House - One Hour Later
Yoko had greeted Tara at the door and took her bags. She had quickly settled into a conversation with the girls. Yukina was on her right and to her left was the arm of the couch. She felt a certain pyro-breed's eyes on Yukina at all times. That saddened Tara slightly. She had long since faded out of the conversation and was listening more closely to the Xenosaga Ultimate Mix CD she had brought with her. Yuki Kaijura was one hell of an artist, as was Yasunori Mitsuda.
"Tara?"
Tara immediately snapped back to reality upon hearing her name. Kayko had called her out on her ignorance. Tara had the feeling her name meant 'bad luck', as it seemed that as soon as her name left Kayko's mouth, Yoko dropped something in the kitchen.
"YA! THAT'S HOT!"
Pause.
"DANG MY PIE!!"
Pause once more.
"WE'RE GOOD! NOTHING MAJOR!"
Tara chuckled and stood up. She knew he was going to need help cleaning so she went to aid him. Err, she would have anyway. Instead she came head to chest with a certain demon that had shot up in height over the past six months. He had just walked out of the kitchen after having gone in there but a moment before. Tara stopped and froze. He was two inches in front of her nose and she was beet red. Not good. Not good at all. She quickly stepped back and let him pass to avoid any further embarrassment. He continued his path and Tara hers. She didn't need any more run-ins with him tonight...
Up Stairs Hall Way - 11:48
An almost cat-like yawn escaped Tara's lips for the second time since she had gone upstairs. She had gone after a pillow from one of the boy's rooms, since she was used to sleeping on a TV pillow and two floor pillows. She had grabbed a forest green pillow from Yuske's room, since it was the first one she came across. She was currently hugging said pillow with her head laying on it and walking down the hall at the same time.
She was out of it.
Completely out of it.
Her senses, normally, are far keener at night for the sake of awareness. Not tonight.
She didn't sense him coming.
And she ran into him.
And again she froze.
Shizah!
Tara was once again face to chest with none other then Hiei. She opened her blue eyes and the first thing she saw was his gloriously toned pecs. He had on no shirt. She knew he could read minds so she butchered any thoughts that came to mind then and there before he could see them. That would be bad. That would be very, VERY bad.
She swallowed hard and looked up. His eyes glowed in the dim light from the hallway window. She could see every detail in his handsome face perfectly. He looked like a god there in the moonlight. A smirking god. The small cocky smile that graced his lips at that moment could make most melt on sight; Tara was too tired to realize why he was and was too busy trying in vain to figure out why.
He had read her mind earlier that day just as he was now. She had been thinking about Her Christmas List. You want to know what was on the top of that list? One simple thing. A single kiss. He had heard that thought earlier that day. It finally clicked.
He knew.
Tara's face went redder then ever before. She took a single step back and went to go around him. He caught her arm. And pulled her back and pressed her against the wall to her left. He pulled the pillow from her arms and dropped it to the ground. She had no earthly clue what the pyro-breed was doing. She was tired and didn't want to deal with anything at the moment.
His grin seemed to widen when he noticed how the top button on her pj's was left undone. She normally slept shirtless, so this was more comfortable.
What he did next. Was not.
He pressed himself up against her and so she was now pinned to the wall. Her mind finally kicked in. First thought.
Crap.
Second thought.
What the hell?
Third thought? She lost track of her own thoughts at that point. It was then that she felt warm air slip over her right ear. His breath. She was suddenly acutely aware of the cold, and it showed. Every part of her body went stiff. Every part. She could see his face out of the corner of her eye and his smirk shifted to a grin when he felt her body grow tense. Her shirt was thin too, so he felt absolutely everything.
Damn.
He breathed past her ear again.
Another shiver.
The bastard was teasing her.
That is one thing she would not stand for. Tara was not as dull as she acted at times. He held within his chest a heart of stone, nothing engraved in its cold surface about her. She quickly brought her palms up and placed them on the underside of his upper arms, since they were above her head and supporting him, and used the leverage to push away from him. She wouldn't be able to move him, but she could get away.
Tara managed to get about one step between the two of them before she was pulled back and pressed against his chest; her hands having gone up in front of her to push away were now pressed against him as well. She was completely pinned now. She found her voice for the first time since she ran into him and used it. Her tone? Dark and Commanding.
"Let. Go."
She looked him directly in the eyes when she spoke.
Blood on Crimson.
His grin turned almost feral. Tara growled low in her chest and pushed against him. She really didn't want to fight him to get away. If he kept up though, she would do just that.
"Jaganshi. Release me. I will not tell you again."
Second shot.
Take it or leave it.
His grin grew just a bit more and his right fang glinted in the moonlight.
Leave it.
She shifted her hands so that her palms were pressed against his chest. Foxes are a beautiful creatures to many in the human world. In the demon world though.
We're vicious.
She instantly felt a cold shimmer run across her palm and heat began to fill it.
If he won't let go. She'll give him no choice.
She would use one of her unlikeable powers. She would drain him of both blood and energy until he let go of her. She would not be teased for fun. She will accept no show of affection unless the emotions are behind it. He may have captured her interest and her eyes. But her heart was not his to play with.
What he did next made her question his sanity.
His grin shifted again, this time to a small smile.
She blinked twice to see if her eyes were tricking her. Nope. He was smiling at her, and she was slowly killing him.
"Do you really think that low of me, Tara-chan?"
She stopped. What was he getting at…?
"What?"
"Do you really think that low of me? That I would approach someone in such a manner for no reason? I act only when I see it necessary, or if I deem the action needed. I didn't come to tease you."
Now Tara was confused. She closed her hands and resealed the pads on her hands.
"Then why are you doing this?"
"What was the first thing on your Christmas List?"
Her Christmas List? Wait...
"Cleaver girl."
"I th-"
Tara didn't get the chance to speak. He shut her up with one movement.
He granted her Christmas Wish.
